Make a cloth collar, spray cloth collar substantially and tie around neck. Then spray legs of pet lightly (do not apply directly to a cats fur). Remember insects and animals are more keenly aware of scents than humans and a cat's skin is more sensitive than a humans skin. So, more Ticked Off is not better. Regardless of which repellent you use to avoid ticks, you should re-spray about every hour if you are in the woods or tall grass. Don't forget about horses, help relieve the torment of flies.
