Ravensara Essential Oil

Description: The ravensara tree is about 60 feet high with red bark, elliptical leaves, and small greenish flowers.

Extraction Method: Steam distillation from leaves
Color: Colorless to pale yellow liquid
Aroma: Has a eucalyptus-like scent, but softer. Warm, spicy, camphorous, and medicinal.
Actions/Therapeutic Properties: Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic, expectorant, and neurotonic.
Uses: Stimulating and purifying. Diffuse for respiratory problems, colds, flu, coughs, and sinusitis. Use in a spray to disinfect. Add to a foot cream to fight athlete’s foot. Use as an antiseptic on cuts and sores (as with all pure essential oils, do not apply to the skin without diluting in carrier oil—jojoba, sweet almond, etc.).
Blends with: Most herbs, such as bay, bergamot, clary sage, cedarwood, eucalyptus, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, marjoram, pine, rosemary, tea tree, and thyme.
